  • Olivia Bishop

    MASTER'S STUDENT

    Lab Manager

    Olivia is a second year MSc student, who completed her honour's thesis in the AWE lab. Her Master's thesis will qualitatively examine a lesser-known subtype of OCD surrounding women’s health. Olivia hopes to pursue doctoral studies in Clinical Psychology.

  • Jenna Perry

    MASTER'S STUDENT

    Jenna completed her BSc (Hons.) in psychology at MUN under the supervision of Dr. Nick Harris. Currently, she is a second year MSc student in the AWE lab. Her research will examine differential diagnosis of illness anxiety disorder and health/somatic OCD. After completing her MSc, Jenna hopes to pursue schooling in clinical psychology and become a registered psychologist. 

  • Kaitlyn Miller

    PHD STUDENT

    Co-supervised by Dr. Jonathan Fawcett

    Kaitlyn is a second year PhD student, with nearly 15 years of experience working in Australia as a psychologist. She holds a Bachelor of Psychology and a Master of Clinical Psychology (with Distinction) from the University of Newcastle. In 2016, she was awarded the Australian Psychological Society [APS] College of Clinical Psychologists Student Prize for excellence in coursework, research, and practicum. Kaitlyn is passionate about women’s mental health, having practiced in child and family health clinics, sexual assault services and perinatal mental health. Kaitlyn’s PhD research will be focused on anxiety in the menopause transition. She is deeply committed to developing research that will inform evidence-based practice and have a positive impact on individuals, families and communities. 

  • Chelsea Hyde

    HONOURS STUDENT

    Graduate mentor: Jenna Perry

    Chelsea is a fourth year BSc Psychology student completing her honours thesis in the AWE Lab under the supervision of Dr. Emily Fawcett, and co-supervised by MSc student Jenna Perry. Her project will investigate a lesser-known presentation of body dysmorphic disorder. She hopes to pursue further studies and work towards becoming a mental health professional.

  • Brooke Hiscock

    DOCTORAL STUDENT

    Brooke completed her BSc in Psychology and MSc in Experimental Psychology (Health and Wellness) at MUN, with an honours thesis in cognition under the supervision of Dr. Jonathan Fawcett and a MSc thesis completed in the AWE lab. She is an incoming PsyD student in the AWE lab, and will be continuing her research from her MSc on the spread and transfer of obsessions and compulsions in individuals with OCD.

  • Ashlee Coles

    DOCTORAL STUDENT

    Co-Supervised by Dr. Jonathan Fawcett

    Ashlee is a second year PsyD student who previously completed her honours thesis under Dr. Emily Fawcett’s supervision. Her prior research has focused on investigating the stigma, identification, and prevalence of anxiety/related disorders and cannabis use problems. Her thesis research will examine food avoidance and accommodation by loved ones in adults with OCD and Eating Disorders.

  • Chelsea Lahey

    DOCTORAL STUDENT
    Co-Supervised by Dr. Jonathan Fawcett

    Chelsea is a third year PsyD student who previously completed her MSc at MUN. Her dissertation will examine the prevalence and predictors of “miscellaneous” and lesser-known obsessions and compulsions in individuals with OCD.

  • Quinn Morris

    FORMER DOCTORAL STUDENT
    Co-Supervised by Dr. Jonathan Fawcett

    Quinn completed the Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) program at MUN. For her dissertation, she conducted a meta-analysis examining the prevalence of aggressive obsessions in individuals diagnosed with OCD. Quinn completed her doctoral residency at the Student Wellness and Counselling Centre (SWCC) at Memorial University in August of 2025, and starts with Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services (NLHS) in the fall.

     

  • Ashlinn Pennell

    FORMER HONOURS STUDENT

    Graduate mentor: Olivia Bishop

    Ashlinn pursued a double honours in Psychology and Religious Studies. Her honours project investigated the prevalence and predictors of a lesser-known manifestation of obsessive-compulsive disorder, centered on the fear of psychosis. She is continuing her education in the MSc program at MUN under the supervision of Dr. Ashley Balsom and Dr. Chris Quinn-Nilas. Her graduate thesis will focus on weight bias as a barrier to fertility treatments, exploring how stigma can impact access to reproductive healthcare.

    Jenna completed a Bachelor of Science with honours degree at MUN, majoring in Psychology. After being introduced to lesser-known forms of OCD by assisting graduate student Brooke Hiscock, her honours project expanded upon and explored the transmission of symptoms between individuals with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, also known as “Obsession Contagion.”

    Chelsea completed her MSc at MUN in 2022. Her Master’s thesis examined professional and student understanding of harmful OCD (i.e., aggressive obsessions) and the implications of misidentifying these lesser-known presentations of OCD.

  • Dalainey Drakes

    Dalainey completed her MSc at MUN in 2021. For her Master’s thesis, she conducted a meta-analysis examining the prevalence of comorbid OCD in individuals with eating disorders. Dalainey joined the CADRe lab in 2022 and is currently completing her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Ottawa under the mentorship of Dr. Allison Ouimet.

    Kera completed her BA (Hons.) in psychology with a minor in law and society. Her thesis was focused on the identification of- and stigma associated with- Relationship Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (ROCD).

    Ashlee completed her BA (Hons.) in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. Her honours project examined the lay public’s ability to identify lesser-known subtypes of OCD, and how stigma differs depending on OCD presentation. Ashlee is now joining the PsyD program at Memorial.

  • Rowan Seim

    Rowan completed a BA in Psychology, minoring in Philosophy. Their honour’s thesis involved a Canadian Medical School Curriculum Review on Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder teachings.

    Kelsi completed her BSc in Psychology in 2018. Her thesis examined attentional biases towards health relevant information in heatlh-conscious populations. In 2020 she graduated MUN with her MSc, under the supervision of Dr. Jonathan Fawcett.
