Prospective Graduate Students

Students interested in anxiety and related disorders, women’s health, and/or epidemiology are encouraged to contact Dr. Fawcett about opportunities for supervision.

Students in the Masters of Experimental Psychology (M.Sc.), Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology, and Clinical Psychology Doctorate (Psy.D.) can be supervised by Dr. Fawcett. If you are interested in completing graduate studies in the AWE lab, please email Dr. Fawcett with a cover letter or short statement detailing why you want to work with her and append a copy of your current CV, unofficial transcript(s), and a writing sample (e.g., article, or term paper). Please note that availability to supervise graduate students will change from year to year.

For students interested in the Psy.D. program, please note that the program is quite competitive, and students who receive admission often have some level of graduate training.

Expectations of Graduate Students: Graduate students are expected to publish their thesis work in peer-reviewed journals and will be encouraged to disseminate their findings by presenting at local, national, or international conferences.

For more information on psychology graduate programs at MUN, please visit the MUN Psychology Department Graduate Studies website.

Prospective Honour’s Students

Dr. Fawcett typically only accepts 1-2 honours students per year.

If you are a psychology major and interested in doing an honours thesis in the AWE lab, please email Dr. Fawcett (efawcett@mun.ca) with a cover letter or short statement detailing why you want to work with her, current copy of your CV, a writing sample (e.g., term paper) and an unofficial transcript. Please apply in the fall of the year prior to completing your honours. You may be interviewed.

Expectations of Honours Students: Please note that honours students in the AWE lab are expected to begin their thesis research over the summer. You may be co-supervised and mentored by a graduate student in the lab.

For more information on the honours program, please visit the MUN Psychology Department's honours program website.
